Oak Point State Park Particulars

Oak Point State Park is located a half a mile from downtown Put-in-Bay just past the Boardwalk on Bayview Avenue. It is on the northwestern side of the island. It’s a pleasant short walk taking you right along the shoreline. Nearby neighbors include The Aquatic Visitors Center, Kayak The Bay, and the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.

There is a loop through the Park, making it easier for boaters to use. The Skip Duggan’s Antique Car Club drives through the Park each week on Sundays! Boaters can see the weekly Parade from the docks while non-boaters line up on the streets of downtown to cheer on the Parade. The favorite part of the Parade for most is the candy truck pitching candy to all the kids!

South Bass Island State Park

Put-in-Bay’s largest Park is South Bass Island, State Park. Located about a mile away, this Park is undoubtedly more prominent, but that’s not hard considering Oak Points Size! The Park includes a playground for the kids, pebble beach, docks, and picnic sites. For overnight accommodations, various types of campsites are offered. Four cabinets located within the Park on a hill and rented through a lottery system by the state. They sleep up to six people and include a kitchen.
