Put-in-Bay Parasailing -Another Way To “Get High” On The Island!

Parasailing over Lake Erie is an exciting experience rivaled only by the island’s Helicopter Rides and Biplane rides!  In continuous operation since the late ’80s, Put-in-Bay Parasailing has lifted thousands of people high above the downtown harbor. The Parasailing booth is next to the Boardwalk Restaurant Complex on Bayview Avenue. As you arrive at the Jet Express Ferry terminal, you’ll likely see the colorful parachutes up in the sky!

The parasailing company was motivated by a trip to Florida. The original owner of Put-in-Bay Parasail brought this activity to the island, much to the delight of both visitors and tourists. Parasailing lifts the lucky participants into the air via a rainbow-colored parasail. The well-trained staff led by Captain Jason Hill is exceptionally knowledgeable. They ensure every guest learns about safety and proper technique. Joe and Kennedy will assist you with the parasailing best practices.

You can choose from either high or low parasailing. The standard towline is 600,’ but they can give you up to 800’ if you ask to feel like you’re flying. Each light lasts about 10 minutes. Are you looking to get wet? Asked to be dunked into Lake Erie, It’s enjoyable! Or you can stay dry. Each line can carry up to 400 lbs. If the weather is good, you can opt to fly in tandem with someone else.

Put-in-Bay Parasail offers lots of deals and affordable packages. Each flight includes 30 action photos of your trip. The best package consists of a DVD and a T-Shirt. A flight is $90, and each lasts about 10 minutes. Everyone gets an “I Got High” sticker.

Groups are more than welcome to try out this activity together. It is a bonding activity. Reservations are taken on a first-come-first-served basis. Don’t wait to come parasailing since flights can be delayed if it’s raining.

Riders are lifted directly off the back platform of the vessel in a seated position until airborne. You will also land back on the platform on your feet at the end of the flight.

Near Put-in-Bay Parasailing

Reward yourself after your flight with lunch or dinner and a cocktail at the Boardwalk Restaurant. This sprawling complex features five different restaurants and three bars. The crown jewel is the Upper Deck. Enjoy the amazing view of the lake you just flew over as you dig into Lobster Bisque and a glass of wine. Rita’s Cantina is also on deck if you’d prefer a delicious frozen Margherita.

The entire downtown area is full of fun things to do, from bars to shopping; it has it all. Some favorite bars include Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille and Hooligan’s Irish Pub. Popular shopping destinations are certainly Lovella’s Boutique and the Carriage House.

Weekends find groups of friends hopping from bar to bar, enjoying live music, friendly company, and healthy drinks. Families love sitting in DeRivera Park and taking a spin on Kimberly’s Carousel.
