Saunders Golf Course Put-in-Bay’s Only Golf Course

Put-in-Bay has only one golf course, but it’s a challenging one! The Par 3 nine-hole course is often played twice for an 18 hole game. It’s a fun outdoor activity with family or friends. The well laid out course is a walking course. No Put-in-Bay Golf Carts are allowed, and the course is one of the few places on the island that a cart is NOT permitted. Saunders Golf Course encourages you to hone your golf skills on a challenging hilly course with smaller greens.

Saunders Golf Course Details

Saunders Golf Course can be found at the end of Catawba Avenue. It is a little less than two miles from the downtown Put-in-Bay strip. It is located next to South Bass Island State Park, home to a popular camping area and bathing beach.

Saunders Golf Course Particulars

When selecting clubs to bring to the course, the Par 3’s are usually completed with two clubs, a seven iron and a putter. These two clubs, along with an optional chipping club are pretty much the only clubs you will need to play the course. No need to bring the whole heavy bag of equipment along! Bring a few extra balls as you might need them!

Reservations are not required for a tee time. Each summer Saunders Golf Course is the host to a popular Put-in-Bay Tournament called the seven iron classic. The tournament is played with just a seven iron and a putter by all players. It’s a fun, and spirited competition, and many islanders participate for additional information on the tournament check with the Put-in-Bay Visitors & Convention Bureau website.

There is a gift shop on the course that sells snacks, drinks, and tobacco products. Ice is available for purchase to keep your cooler topped off. A limited number of golf supplies are also kept on hand.
