Maritime Celebration At Put-in-Bay
Join visitors and locals from Put-in-Bay as we welcome the US Brig Niagara for the Annual Put-in-Bay Maritime Celebration. This 2nd annual event hosts the historical replica, which is traditionally at the port in Erie, PA. It will be docked at Put-in-Bay, Ohio, for one weekend this summer. A key element to the success of the War of 1812, Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry commanded the original relief vessel.
Now, this replica is used for sailing training and exhibition and. Thanks to the Put-in-Bay Jet Express, and the Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the Niagara’s visit was made possible by their joint sponsorship. Don’t forget to plan your vacation for June 22-24 to get an up-close and personal look at this beautiful sailing ship. The best part about the US Brig Niagara visit is that it is followed by with Put-in-Bay’s Pirate Fest!
The Pirates Invade!
On Friday, starting at 4 PM, the Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor will be invaded by pirates! They have no plans of retreating to the open waters of Lake Erie until Tuesday afternoon. Children and adults will have so much fun on this entertaining weekend. A wide variety of fun activities, demonstrations, and contests for participation will be offered throughout the event. A few examples are:
- Black powder firing demonstrations.

Maritime Celebration Brig Arrival Information
With cooperative weather, the US Brig Niagara will arrive on Friday, June 22. Dockside tours will are offered throughout the weekend from 11 am-7 pm on Saturday and Sunday. You may purchase your tickets at Fox’s Dock, where the Niagara is berthed. A Day Sail aboard Niagara from 1 to 5 pm on Monday, June 25th, will be offered for those deemed sea-worthy! Tickets are $100 per person. This event is for children 12 and up. Children younger than 12 are not permitted to participate as this is a hands-on sail experience.
