Put-in-Bay Clambake! A 47 Year Island Tradition!
The Put-in-Bay Clambake serves up food that, unlike many of your favorite foods, is not accessible and easy to get all the time. If you crave a burger or Put-in-Bay Pizza, there’s no shortage of places to call. But for many things, you have to have them when they’re offered. There’s not a pig roast everywhere every day, for example.
The same can be said with the Put-in-Bay clambake. If you’re fortunate to be at Put-in-Bay Ohio in September, you will want to get tickets and make your way over to the fire station downtown at 199 Concord Street Between 12 PM and 6 PM and enjoy one of the island’s great culinary pleasures, the clambake! For over 47 years, the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department clambake has taken place. All proceeds raised go towards updating the fire department’s equipment, so you’ll be eating for a great cause!

Cooked and served up by island volunteers, the Put-in-Bay Clambake serves carry out style as well as dine-in. Some prefer to take meals to one of the many Put-in-Bay Parks such as Oak Point State Park for an enjoyable picnic meal. There are public restrooms and numerous picnic tables at DeRivera Park, and just a short walk away in the downtown area. Of course, you could always take it back to your Put-in-Bay Hotels or rental homes as well!
Tickets for the clam bake are TBD, and your dinner includes a dozen clams, 1/2 BBQ Chicken, potato, corn, vegetables, and fresh fruit. As usual, There will be things happening all over the island to enjoy. From golf to Jet Skis, the entire family will enjoy an action-packed fun island getaway.
. You can kayak around the lake or rent jet skis. You can check out not one, but two, fantastic caves, one with an underground lake and one with the world’s largest geode! I’ll bet you didn’t expect that. The Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial is one of the tallest monuments in America, and that’s at Put-in-Bay too!
