Reel Bar was created by Ray Fogg, a local musician and  Andy Christiansen in 2014. Quickly, the Reel Bar proved to be one of the favorite Put-in-Bay Bars.  Affectionately referred to as a “Reel New Bar in a Reel Old Place,” this friendly bar’s decorated out to celebrate Lake Erie Fishing.

The Reel Bar Particulars

For many years this location was known as Tony’s Place, an island icon. Located on Catawba Avenue near the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society, it’s just a block away from the Put-in-Bay Resort.

The bar has this great “home-town” feel. Patrons immediately feel comfortable here. The owners took great care to make This place makes one feel warm and welcome by using natural materials such as real stone, reclaimed barn wood, recycled antique lighting and lots of cool old signs and such.

Reel Bar is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Menu specializes in plates piled high with delicious, filling, and healthy food.

While the bar may look like an old seafood dive bar, the menu uses only the freshest ingredients, including hormone-free and antibiotic-free meats and poultry. The Lake Erie Perch freshly caught and locally sourced. A great way to start the day is breakfast at the Reel Bar. A seat on the outside patio is an excellent place to people watch and dine.

• Smashed Avocado Toast with two eggs
• Breakfast Sandwich served on a buttery croissant with scrambled eggs, white cheddar, and a choice of sausage, bacon or Canadian bacon.

• Reel Breakfast including two fresh eggs, home fries, toast, and your choice of meat

A Bloody Mary is the perfect way to wash down a great breakfast. Hot coffee or bar favorite cocktails are served all day. Add a shot of your favorite liquor to fresh-squeezed OJ for a twist. Their fresh-squeezed cocktails start your day off healthy.

The great food selections continue to lunch and dinner. Diners can expect the same great service and satisfying food all hours of the day at the Reel Bar.

• Reel Loaded Nachos with shredded cheese, queso cheese, sour cream, salsa, jalapenos, red onion, and lettuce. Add grilled chicken or shrimp.
• Short Rib Philly with onion, mushrooms, and peppers, covered in Swiss cheese, and served with horseradish aioli.
• Reel Tots (smothered tater tots covered in cheese!)
• Lake Erie Perch with their special breading
• Sweet Bourbon Burgers with candied bacon, Reel bourbon glaze, steakhouse onion cheddar cheese, and crispy onions.
• Shrimp Tacos

Reel Bar Entertainment

It should be no surprise the Reel Bar is home to some of the best live entertainment on the island. Owner Ray Fogg regularly hosts his popular The Ray Fogg Show, an adult-oriented comedy/music show that has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years!

Karaoke, regional, and local bands are seen regularly. The bar regularly hosts fun charity and community events. There is always something fantastic playing at the Reel Bar. Just to the left of the bar, a block down Catawba is the Put-in-Bay Surf Shop. Packed with hip clothing, sunglasses, board shorts, and some cool flip flops.
