The Carriage House Location

The Carriage House is next door to the family-friendly Kimberly’s Carousel. The handcrafted carousel was constructed back in 1917 by famed amusement park developer Allen Herschell. Most of the horses are original, and all of them are hand-painted. Each one is also named. A  Put-in-Bay locals favorite is definitely “Petey the Perch.”

Strolling along the streets of downtown Put-in-Bay is a great way to spend the day taking in the sights. A great place to grab a quick meal is the nearby Village Bakery and Cafe. Make sure to take home some freshly baked pastries and a cup of their piping hot coffee, the freshest on the island.

Stock up homemade fudge and nostalgic candy at the Put-in-Bay Candy Bar and enjoy an ice cream cone in the chairs out front watching the world go by. Mossbacks Restaurant is another spot to grab an excellent lunch or dinner. They have an amazing lineup of live music and entertainment all summer long right next door at the Fishbowl.

DeRivera Park, located in the center of town, hosts public restrooms and lockers where you can store all your shopping before heading to dinner. There are picnic tables, a gazebo, a fun playground, and public BBQ for all to use. Put-in-Bay Boat docks are available for rent as well.

Whether you are traveling with a group of friends or family, there is always plenty to do on Put-in-Bay. The adults in the group will love all the world-class dining and lively bars, many featuring live entertainment. The Boardwalk and the Keys, which are both located right on the harbor, are two other must experience foodie trail locations. Dining here means gorgeous Lake Erie views and delicious food.

The Keys excels in Florida inspired dishes such as fresh Grouper and mojitos. The Boardwalk is actually five restaurants in one location, from casual to formal site down dining as well as two bars!

Put-in-Bay is truly a world-class destination located in the middle of beautiful Lake Erie. Aside from an amazing dining and shopping scene, visitors flock here for the excellent Put-in-Bay fishing on the lake with catches of Perch and Walleye as well as all the fun water sports one can partake in.
