Be sure to purchase your State of Ohio Fishing Licenses before heading out on Lake Erie. It’s as easy as submitting the paperwork right there at the Wharfside. Lake Erie is known as the Walleye Capital of the World, and it’s commonplace to see fishermen regularly catch fish around 18 inches. If you are persistent enough, you may catch a Walleye reaching as much as 26 inches!
Other typical catches for Lake Erie are the delicious YellowPerch and Smallmouth Bass. Yellow Perch is a local favorite, and you will find it on many of the Put-in-Bay Restaurants menus. Area restaurants served it up all year long! Located in the harbor next door to the Boardwalk on Bayview Avenue, Wharfside and Topsy Turvey are easy to find, and there is plenty of Put-in-Bay Golf Cart Rental Parking on site. Come in for lunch and a waterfront view of beautiful Put-in-Bay harbor on Lake Erie.

Put-In-Bay, Ohio, has become a well-known destination for families, fishermen, boaters, and friends. There are Put-in-Bay docks available downtown and several private nad membership options throughout the island. The most talked-about, and popular docks are located right in the heart of downtown! Included in the downtown docks are the Village Docks and DeRivera Docks, which can both be rented by the day or overnight. The docks are close to the public restrooms in the center of the park, which include lockers and showers. Electric hookups are available.
Private docks and clubs include the Park Place Boat Club and the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. The Put-in-Bay Yacht Club features Friday Dinners and many popular events held throughout the summer, including regattas.
Located nearby at the Keys Restaurant is The Park Place Boat Club. Members & Guests also will enjoy The Boardwalk, which is a central location for five different restaurants. Boardwalk is known for its world-famous lobster bisque and its spectacular views of Lake Erie. The fastest and best way to get to the island if you aren’t lucky enough to have your boat is on the Jet Express Ferry. The Jet Express docks downtown on Bayview Avenue and is just a short walk to the Wharfside and Boardwalk.
